Former whisky distiller launches boutique gin

A former whisky distiller has launched a new boutique gin in the UK made using a unique blend of unusual botanicals, including Lebanese mint.

Daffy’s Gin is now available online for an RRP of £34

Founded by former wine maker and whisky distiller Chris Molyneaux, Edinburgh-based Daffy’s Gin is distilled in an ancient copper pot whisky still and bottled with Scottish water.

According to its brand, the use of Lebanese mint combined with other “unique and rare botanicals not used by any other gins” provides a zesty, spritely spirit.

“We are amazingly happy with what we have managed to achieve in creating the very finest and most balanced of gins,” said Molyneaux.

“We have used innovative malt whisky techniques and meticulously sourced botanicals to discover a new world of complexity and finesse.

“Daffy’s is a gin like no other and the industry and consumer feedback we have had so far has been overwhelming. The world awaits.”

The illustration of Daffy on the bottle was painted last year by Robert McGinnis – the artist responsible for the Breakfast at Tiffany’s, James Bond and Barberella posters.

Bottled at 43.4% abv, Daffy’s Gin has an RRP of £32 per 700ml bottle and is available to buy online via www.daffysgin.com.

It has also secured listings in key on- and off-trade locations throughout Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast and London.
