Diageo exec joins UV Vodka producer as CEO

United States Distilled Producers Co (USDP), owner of the UV Vodka brand, has appointed a former Diageo executive as its new CEO.

USDP, owner of Phillips Distilling Co, expects to benefit from the appointment of former Diageo executive Mike Duggan

Mike Duggan, who spent 15 years with Diageo USA, most recently as vice president general manager of control division west, brings over 20 years experience to his new role with Minneapolis-based USDP.

He will oversee the company’s growth, including that of subsidiary Phillips Distilling Company, which produces Prairie Organic Spirits, Phillips Spirits, Sour Puss Liqueurs and Revel Stoke Whiskies as well as UV vodka.

Dean Phillips, chairman of USDP, said: “With an established track record of developing and executing strategic programs that have delivered expanded distribution and growth, Mike is a great addition to our team. His skilled leadership and keen ability to identify opportunities for development will ensure that the company continues to be a leader and pioneer in the spirits industry.”

Phillips Distilling Company was founded in 1912 in Wisconsin, moving on to produce the US’ first schnapps in 1935.
