Bar robbed by men who hid in toilets after closing

Two men ransacked and stole alcohol to the tune of US$10,000 from one of Boston’s oldest and best-known bars after hiding in the toilets at closing time.

Two men caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to The Red Hat bar in Boston

Management at the Red Hat, claim the two men came out of the bathroom after the venue had shut and opened beer taps, which flooded the floor, smashed spirits bottles and used soda guns to spray the walls.

CCTV footage shows the duo appearing from the toilets on the second floor after everyone had left on Sunday morning.

They left the venue with a box full of bottles of spirits.

“It was very bold,” said Larissa Audette, assistant manager, as reported by CBS Local.

“They started taking the spray guns and spraying it everywhere and breaking bottles.”

Anyone who recognises the culprits are asked to contact Boston police.

The Red Hat has been operating for more than 100 years.

Last November, Russian supermarket workers were facing criminal charges after locking suspected vodka thief in a freezer for an hour.
