By Melita KielyFor the first time ever, Balblair will release a collection of four new vintage single malt Scotch whiskies simultaneously in the US this month.
Four vintage expressions of Balblair Scotch whisky will be launched in the US this monthDistilled on the coast of the Dornoch Firth, the collection will comprise Balblair 2003, 1999, 1990 and 1983.
“We are extremely excited about the latest vintage releases from Balblair,” commented John MacDonald, Balblair distillery manager.
“Each of these whiskies has its own unique nuances and offer exceptional options for whisky fans across the spectrum.”
The 2003 and 1983 vintages were aged in ex-Bourbon barrels, and are described as giving aromas of citrus fruits, apricots and honey with full-bodied flavours of orange, lemon, honey and spice on the palate.
Meanwhile, the 1999 and 1990 releases were aged in ex-Bourbon barrels before being finished in Spanish oak Sherry butts, providing notes of honey and green apple on the nose, with a spicy and sweet taste.
As is Balblair’s tradition, each expression is non-chill-filtered and has an abv of 46%.
Balblair 2003, 1999, 1990 and 1983 will be available for purchase from January at RRPs of US$70, US$90, US$140 and US$330 respectively.
