Rare Isle of Arran whisky released

Four rare and exclusive single casks of Isle of Arran Scotch whisky have been bottled by Anglo-French drinks group Thompsons.

Thompsons-Isle-of-Arran

Thompsons Isle of Arran series features bottlings from four individual casks of 1996 single malt Scotch whisky, all of which have been finished in Chateau Labouade Sauternes casks, are non-chill-filtered and individually numbered.

Simon Thompson, founder of Thompsons, said: “My dad, the MD for Cognac Hine from 1977 to 1988, bought the four casks ‘en primeur’ in 1996, in the distillery’s second year of operating. He passed away in 2012 and I hope this limited edition run will see him proud. The result is very pleasant, even at cask strength with lots of soft, floral notes.”

Each bottle, of which there are 1,700 with four different cask strengths, carries an RRP of €110.
