Cotswolds Distillery to expand just weeks after opening
By Becky PaskinJust weeks after beginning production, the UK’s Cotswolds Distillery has received a grant to “significantly” expand its production capacity for single malt whisky.
The Cotswolds Distilleryanticipates producing 120,000 bottles of whisky per yearThe grant, from the Warwickshire Rural Growth Network (RGN) will enable the English distillery to purchase and install additional washbacks to increase the rate of production of its Cotswolds Single Malt Whisky.
Daniel Szor, founder and CEO of The Cotswolds Distillery, said: “We are delighted at this expression of support from our community. As the only working traditional distillery in the area, we are proud to bring the ancient art of artisanal distilling to Warwickshire and the Cotswolds – this grant will allow us to increase our whisky production significantly and take on apprentice distillers, and will certainly also be a boost to tourism in the North Cotswolds.”
The distillery, located near Stourton in South Warwickshire, began distillation of its single malt using local barley and Cotswolds Dry Gin in September.
It expects to release its first single malt and rye whisky at the end of 2017. Cotswolds Dry Gin will be available from the end of this month from select wine and spirits retailers at an RRP of £34.99.
