Asda launches own range of blended Scotch
By Amy HopkinsUK supermarket giant Asda has launched its first ever collection of own-brand Scotch whiskies, including a 30-year-old blend costing £60.
Asda has launched its own brand of blended Scotch whisky, called TasgallLaunched as part of the retailer’s Extra Special line, the whisky range currently consists of a 25-year-old and 30-year-old blended Scotch whisky priced £50 and £60 respectively.
The range, called Tasgall, has been created using malt whisky sourced from Speyside and Highland distilleries, and grain whisky from Lowland distilleries.
Tasgall 25-year-old is described as having a flavour of creamy vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and oak, while the 30-year-old bottling is said to have flavours of fruitcake, honey and oak.
“At Asda we’ve invested much time and research into creating the best quality blended whiskies that stands up against more expensive competitors available,” said Dave Cresswell, spirits buyer for Asda.
“Sold anywhere else these whiskies would sell for hundreds of pounds, so we are really proud to offer our customers stunning quality at an affordable price.”
Both bottlings will be available at 207 Asda stores across the UK, and are also now available to buy online.
