A woman accused of stealing vodka was locked in a supermarket freezer for one hour

As reported by Big News Network, the woman was held in the freezer of a St Petersburg supermarket at temperatures of minus 15 degrees Celsius, though she was not badly injured.

After apparently recognising the woman from CCTV images showing a vodka theft, three supermarket workers locked her in the freezer.

The incarcerated woman eventually called the police and the supermarket workers now face the possibility of criminal charges.

The suspected vodka theft was never officially reported to police.
