Just 100 bottles of the extra-aged Ballantine’s blend are released each year, and 32 of these will be available across duty free stores in Asia.

The first bottle of Ballantine’s 40 Year Old was released in Korea Incheon Airport.

The expression has been hand-blended by Ballantine’s master blender Sandy Hyslop and contained in a bottle created by British silversmith Richard Fox featuring a gold and silver design.

Each bottle is engraved with a single number from one to 100 and presented in a wooden cabinet.

“This is the most exclusive blended Scotch whisky from Ballantine’s and we are delighted to launch it in Asia Travel Retail, » said Kyung Min, marketing manager at Pernod Ricard Asia Travel Retail. « Ballantine’s 40 Year Old truly is a rare expression and will be of great interest to discerning travellers.”

Ballantine’s 40 Year Old will be available in Korea Incheon airport, Japan International Airport, Hong Kong International Airport and Singapore Changi Airport.
