Wemyss Malts unveils new single cask range
By Amy HopkinsEdinburgh-based spirits bottling company Wemyss Malts has unveiled a new range of single cask Scotch whiskies with a combined age of 261 years.
Wemyss Malts has launched its latest collection of single cask Scotch whiskies, including rarer, older expressionsEach bottling in the collection has been named by a panel of experts lead by Charlie Maclean according its taste and aroma, reflecting the style of its Scotch region.
Similar to the brand’s previous selections of single cask whiskies, this latest lineup is described as a “celebration” of four Scotch whisky regions: Islay, the Highlands, Speyside and Campbeltown.
The 12-strong collection includes the Vintage Strawberry Punnet, a 1988 single cask, single grain from Invergordon; Sweet Peat Posy, a 1987 single cask from Bowmore; Smoke on the Water, a 1982 single cask from Caol Ila; and Blackcurrant Coulis, a 1991 single cask from Blair Athol, among others.
“We continue to source and select some truly memorable single casks for our range,” said William Wemyss, managing director for Wemyss Malts.
“This time we’ve chosen single casks from some of the most popular distilleries and are excited to include our second single grain whisky from Invergordon and some rarer, older whiskies.”
Available from select retailers across the UK, bottles in the collection are priced between £70 and £200.
The company’s previous range consisted of its most valuable whisky to-date, a a 1982 single cask from Bowmore costing up to £700.
