Hudson Whiskey founder Ralph Erenzo was in Shoreditch, London this week to celebrate the launch of the brand in the UK with an evening filled with bespoke Hudson Whiskey cocktails, cider doughnuts, grilled steak sandwiches and butternut squash fries.
Bartender Wayne Chapel of City Social in London has been crowned victor of the 2014 No.3 Gin cocktail competition for his creation called, Mr Tod’s Redemption, made using homemade clementine cordial, carrot and ginger puree and finished with a touch of carrot salt. Inspired by The Tale of Mr Tod by Beatrix Potter, Chapel won himself a Berry Bros & Rudd experience starting with an exclusive lunch for him plus one in the 300-year-old private Director’s Dining room at No.3 St James’ Street, before moving on to Dukes Hotel for No.3 Gin Martinis. In addition, he also received tickets to a show of his choice at the Royal Albert Hall, and a night’s stay at Dukes Hotel.
The highly anticipated opening of Bombay Sapphire’s new “brand home” and distillery Laverstoke Mill took place this week, complete with beautiful glasshouses designed by Heatherwick Studio.
Vodka bar company Revolution is celebrating its history and the sale of its two millionth bottle on National Vodka Day this Saturday with a free flavoured vodka shot for every customer at 7pm in its 53 bars nationwide.
The Spirits Business hopped across the the opening of cocktail alchemist Ryan Chetiyawardana’s latest venture – Dandelyan, a bar inspired by botany which is situated in the heart of London’s glamorous Mondrian hotel. Guests enjoyed such floral, fresh mixes as the Evil Manhattan (a mix of Mr Lyan English botanical beer “vermouth”, Rittenhouse Bonded Rye and bitter) and the Dandelyan (Beefeater London Garden Gin, lemon, lime, dandelion capillaire and garden bitters).
In celebration of the release of “Disaronno wears Versace”, the brand hosted a celeb studded bash at One Mayfair this week enjoyed by the likes of reality TV star Sam Faiers from TOWIE, rapper Wretch 32 and MTV’s Laura Whitmore. Guests enjoyed sipping Disaronno Versace Sour cocktails, designed by brand ambassador Rod Eslamieh and recreated on the night by bartenders from The Rivoli bar at The Ritz, London, where the bespoke tipple will be available from 20 October until Christmas.
London speakeasy Mr Fogg’s took some of its weird and wonderful antiques to the Country Life Fair this week where it hosted a pop-up bar sponsored by Bombay Sapphire Gin.
