Glenrothes unveils ‘most complex’ vintage yet
By Melita KielyBerry Bros. & Rudd Scotch whisky brand The Glenrothes is to release Vintage Reserve, the brand’s “most complex” Reserve comprising 10 vintage no-age-statement single malts.
The Glenrothes will initially release Vintage Reserve in Taiwan this NovemberVintage Reserve is made up of 10 different expressions spanning the past three decades: 1989, 1992, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.
“Unlike other malts that bottle by age, we choose whiskies that represent the best of a particular year and marry them together when they are ready,” commented Ronnie Cox, The Glenrothes brand heritage director.
“Whisky enthusiasts want to kow what they are buying and, as ever, we are happy to oblige by being open and transparent about the 10 vintages assembled together for Vintage Reserve, our most complex Reserve to date.”
Each whisky was hand chosen by malt master, Gordon Motion, whose flavour notes are written on the front label: “Mellow, soft fruits, citrus and honey.”
The Glenrothes Vintage Reserve, at 40% abv, will be launched first in Taiwain in November this year at an RRP of TW$1200 per bottle, before a global roll out in 2015.
