Scotch whisky brand Glenmorangie has extended its partnership with golf’s Open Championship for a further three years.

Glenmorangie has agreed to three more years as the ‘Spirit of The Open’

Glenmorangie will be the ‘Spirit of The Open’ when golf’s oldest Major Championship heads to St Andrews next year, and then to Royal Troon in 2016 and Royal Birkdale in 2017.

“The Open and Glenmorangie have a natural affinity and we are proud to continue our partnership with the R&A as ‘Spirit of The Open’,” commented Marc Hoelllinger, president and CEO of The Glenmorangie Company.

“Glenmorangie’s pursuit of perfection mirrors the mindset required from the world’s top golfers as they seek to lift the iconic Claret Jug.”

Michael Tate, executive director of business affairs at The R&A, organisers of The Open Championship said he was “delighted” to continue the “successful” partnerhip with Glenmorangie over the next three years.

He added: “We aim to ensure that spectators take away wonderful memories when they attend The Open and Glenmorangie plays a big part in delivering those experiences at the Championship.”
