Glen Grant launches 50YO single malt whisky

Glen Grant has released just 150 bottles of a rare edition 50 year old single malt whisky in tribute to the “innovation” and “craftsmanship” of the brand’s history.

Just 150 bottles of Glen Grant 50 Year Old single malt whisky have gone on sale globally

Glen Grant 50 Year Old was first put into its cask on 28 October 1963 by the now Glen Grant master Distiler, Dennis Malcolm.

More than half century later, the whisky has matured into a “robust, full-bodied and perfectly balanced” single malt.

“Only time measures our pursuit of perfection,” commented Dennis Malcolm, master distiller for Glen Grant. “Maturation cannot be rushed.

“Like people, casks mature at their own pace. I have protected and cared for this barrel for 50 years, letting it breathe and patiently waiting for the magic and interaction of whisky and wood.”

Each bottle of the rare release is presented in a hand-blown crystal decanter shaped to emulate Glen Grant’s pot stills, crafted at Glencairn Crystal, Scotland’s last remaining family-owned crystal glass company.

Every decanter has been hand engraved, hand numbered and completed with the number 50 in 18-carat-gold lettering, is presented in a copper-lined Scottish oak box and comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Malcolm and every craftsman involved in its making.

Bottled at 54.4% abv, Glen Grant 50 Year Old is available in the UK now from The Whisky Exchange at an RRP of £3,500 per 200ml bottle, or £8,850 per 700ml bottle.
