Captain Morgan director joins Quintessential Brands

Diageo’s former global brand director for Captain Morgan has joined British drinks group Quintessential Brands as international marketing director.

Lizzy Johnson, formerly global brand director of Captain Morgan at Diageo, has joined Quintessential Brands

Lizzy Johnson, who has 17 years of drinks industry experience, steps into the role at Quintessential today (13 October) and succeeds Stephen Loftus who left the group for a position in another industry.

Having most recently worked internationally on the Captain Morgan rum brand, which sells over 10 million cases annually, Johnson will be responsible for the international marketing of Quintessential’s spirits range, which includes Greenall’s, Bloom, Berkeley Square and Ophir gins, Toussaint coffee rum liqueur and the Irish cream liqueurs that form part of the First Ireland Spirits Co, which was acquired by Quintessential earlier this year.

Johnson has also held positions with Asia Pacific Breweries as senior marketing manager of Heineken and Tiger Beer, as well as with football association UEFA.

Warren Scott, CEO of the Quintessential Brands Group, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming Lizzy to the group and very much look forward to working with her.

“Lizzy, who will report to Mike Salmon, will help drive the continued expansion of our brands business on an international scale. We also wish Stephen all the very best for the future in his new role and appreciate the contribution that he made at a key time of growth for the Quintessential Brands Company.”
