The Lakes Gin signs Olympic skier as ambassador
By Amy HopkinsOlympic skier Chemmy Alcott has signed up to be the brand ambassador for recently launched The Lakes Gin.
The Lakes Gin has recruited Chemmy Alcott as its global brand ambassadorCreated by The Lakes Distillery – said to be the first distillery to be built in the UK’s Lake District in more than 100 years – The Lakes Gin is created using water from the region’s River Derwent and a mix of traditional gin botanicals as well as bilberry, meadowsweet, hawthorn and heather, foraged where possible in the local countryside.
The brand will now be supported by 32-year-old Olympic and British National Champion skier Alcott.
“We are delighted to have Chemmy as our brand ambassador for The Lakes Gin. She is already proving to be an invaluable and enthusiastic asset and we can’t wait for her involvement in some of our very exciting forthcoming events,” said Paul Currie, founder and managing director of The Lakes Distillery.
Based on the banks of Bassenthwaite Lake, the distillery launched the first British blended whisky, called The One, in the UK last autumn.
It is the brainchild of Isle of Arran Distillers co-founder Currie, and former Dewars master distiller, Chris Anderson.
The Lakes Gin, which was first unveiled in August this year, will be officially launched later this month.
