The Glenlivet Nadurra introduces second bottling

The Glenlivet has unveiled the second permanent extension in its “cult” Nadurra range, a single malt aged in virgin American oak casks.

Chivas Brothers has launched The Glenlivet Nadurra First Fill Selection into the brand’s Nadurra range

Brand owner Chivas Brothers, the Scotch arm of French drinks group Pernod Ricard, announced in April this year that it would be building on the success of The Glenlivet Nadurra by expanding the brand to include several new expressions, the first of which was a Sherry butt-aged The Glenlivet Nadurra Oloroso.

The Glenlivet Nadurra First Fill Selection is a no-age-statement single malt “matured in first-fill American white oak casks”, or virgin oak.

Bottled at 48% abv and non-chill-filtered, the expression is described as having a “rich” character with vanilla, fudge pear, banana and citrus notes and a “refreshing” finish.

“Whisky enthusiasts have admired The Glenlivet for its signature smooth and fruity flavour profile for nearly 200 years so, with our Nadurra range, we want to highlight the skill and craftsmanship behind The Glenlivet,” said Nikki Burgess, global brand director for The Glenlivet.

“The Glenlivet Nadurra has long held an extra special place in the hearts of single malt whisky connoisseurs and we are confident that our new Nadurra innovations will satisfy their increasing appetite for excellence in single malt whisky craftsmanship.”

The global roll out of The Glenlivet Nadurra First Fill Selection, priced US$80, will begin this month. The expression will also be available in global travel retail as a cask strength edition at 63.1% abv.

Chivas Brothers also announced that distribution of The Glenlivet Nadurra Oloroso would be extending into domestic markets fpr the first time, including India, Canada and Taiwan, from September.
