Scotch logisitcs provider builds three new warehouses
Carntyne Transport, logistics provider to the Scotch whisky industry, has expanded its warehousing facilities by more than 100,000 sq ft to cope with the category’s “significant growth”.
Carntyne Transport has developed over 100,000 sq ft of new Scotch whisky cask warehousing
The Glasgow-based company has opened three new HMRC-approved Scotch whisky maturation warehouses in Leith (55,000 sq ft), Paisley (30,000 sq ft) and Hillington (25,000 sq ft), all within the last 18 months.
The move comes after the provider outgrew its existing facilities.
David Paterson, managing director of Carntyne Transport, said: “The whisky industry has experienced significant growth in recent years which has driven demand for high quality, flexible warehousing that meets all legislative requirements.
“Given Carntyne’s presence within the bulk whisky industry, our experience of bonded warehousing and existing property portfolio, extending our offering to include cask warehousing seemed a logical step.”
Carntyne forms part of the Russell Group, which will provide warehousing and distribution services for the new Glasgow Distillery Company’s site in the eponymous city.
