Rooftop Bar at The Flushing Meadows Hotel – Munich

Not a city known for its hotels, but this new boutique hotel has something of a speakeasy vibe about it in an unassuming residential block. The square-shaped bar on the top floor has a great terrace and even better cocktails. The barmen have learnt the tricks of their trade in London’s classic hotel scene so they stock the very rare Sipsmith VJOP (Very Juniper Over Proof) gin.

Julep – Houston

This new spot is bigging up the history and hospitality of the Deep South, from the southern classic cocktails shaken at the bar, to the Blue Point oysters from the kitchen. Houston’s hottest opening is co-owned by a powerhouse in the US booze scene, Alba Huerta. She’s been hard at work on this new spot for a long time and we hear it’s paid off big time.

Craft Cocktail Company – London

This is the newest baby in the Bethnal Green gang. The guys here are taking the art of drinking very seriously and getting involved with London’s hottest cocktail trend by making cocktails in barrels and then bottling them. Service at speed as well as a cool space to hang out in, this is a trend we’re on board with.

Brilliantshine – Los Angeles

With Soigne Group’s Josh Goldman and Julian Cox (of Picca and Sotto) at the helm we’re guessing this place will match its name. Expanding the Santa Monica scene, this is a local joint with a whiskey bent and Peruvian bites from chef Richie Lopez. Rumour has it this will also be a testing space for the bartending duo to experiment with drinks for their other endeavours.

Paris – Mabel

Days from opening at the time of writing, this cocktail emporium and rum empire in Montorgueil will be headed up by master shaker Joseph Akhavan and Samantha Sanfor. It promises a friendly environment, nibbles from lunch until late and excellent cocktails. See you there.
