Angel’s Envy applies to expand ageing capacity
By Amy HopkinsOne year after revealing plans for a new US$12 million distillery, investors in Angel’s Envy Bourbon have proposed to renovate and expand a large warehouse site.
Angel’s Envy has applied to build a large warehouse complex to age whiskey created at its new US$12m distilleryAs reported by the Louiseville Courier-Journal, Angel’s Envy investors are hoping to embark on a large warehouse project in the Louiseville suburb of Shively, renovating an unused warehouse and building two additional warehouses at 217,000 and 231,000 square feet.
The site would be used to age whiskey created at Angel Envy’s new US$12m Bourbon and rye distillery in the centre of Louiseville.
The Louiseville Distilling Company (LDC), producer of Angel’s Envy, received a “significant” investment in the new development from Louisville-based private equity firm Blue Equity LLC.
Papers filed to Louiseville’s Metro Planning Commission stated that whiskey barrel from the Angel’s Envy distillery would be aged in the new complex for a minimum of four years.
While a ceremonial ground-breaking for the new Angel’s Envy distillery took place about 12 months ago, construction has yet to begin on the site.
Once built, the distillery will feature a multi-storey column still, with the capability of producing over 30 barrels of liquid a day, as well as a bottling line.
