Three more rums gain ACR seal of approval

Three new rums have been awarded the Authentic Caribbean Rum (ACR) Marque for authenticity, provenance and quality: Hampden Estate Gold, Monymusk Plantation Special Reserve and Westerhall Vintage.

Hampden Estate Gold, Westerhall Vintage and Monymusk Plantation Special Reserve rums all now carry the ACR Marque of approval

The three new additions, produced in Jamaica and Grenada, bring the total number of companies carrying the ACR Marque to 18.

To be given the Marque, a company must meet all the production, provenance and quality criteria established by the West Indies Rum and Spirits Producers’ Association (WIRSPA).

Hampden Estate Gold is produced in the Hampden area of Jamaica in a pot still using traditional techniques.

Monymusk Plantation Special Reserve meanwhile is produced by the National Rums of Jamaica, and is a blend of mature rums from across the country.

Westerhall Vintage is a dark amber rum from Granada, produced by Westerhall Estate.

Rums featuring the Marque will be used as educational tools to promote Caribbean rums within the drinks industry in key European markets.
