The Savoy releases 48-year-old Macallan whisky

Iconic London hotel The Savoy is celebrating its 125th anniversary by releasing three bottles of “extremely rare” 48-year-old Macallan Scotch whisky.

The Savoy has released three hand-crafted decanters of 48-year-old Macallan Scotch whisky as part of its exclusive collection

After liaising with a Scotch whisky collector, The Savoy acquired the limited edition, hand-made decanters, of which there are only 15 in the world.

The bottling, which has been named The Savoy 125 Anniversary, joins the hotel’s exclusive collection of branded limited edition bottles, called The Savoy Collection.

While The Savoy first began selling limited edition bottles to loyal guests many years ago, the tradition was revived last year with the release of 121 bottles of a 21-year-old Macallan.

Bottles The Savoy 125 Anniversary are available from The American Bar at The Savoy for £18,500.

In April this year, The Savoy just 20 limited edition pre-bottled Manhattan cocktails created by head bartender Eric Lorincz in Selfridges.
