Potato Head Folk, Singapore
Popular Indonesian F&B brand Potato Head has landed in Singapore and has brought three floors of epicness with it. The first two are part of hip artisan Three Buns serving casual cocktails on the first floor and American diner style food on the second. Up on the third is Studio 1939 (reservations-only dining). At weekends, 1939 Rooftop lounge with its tropical tiki vibes is the place you need to be; the decor is quirky and mismatched and the clientele just as eclectic.

WC Clapham, London
A wine bar in a toilet, yup we’re not sh*tting you. Clapham’s WC Wine & Charcuterie have opened their cubicle doors in the 100-year-old underground public loos. Repurposing original features with surprising brilliance – the old attendant’s box is now the framework of the bar – they offer a small but sexy wine list and nicely chosen meats and cheese.

Barrel Proof, New Orleans
NOLA’s new spot is run by mega bistro-bar Sylvain’s chief cocktail maker Liam Deegan in partnership with Sylvain’s own Sean McCusker and Robert LeBlanc – so you know it’s going to be spot on. This dimly lit laidback venue stocks over 70 beers and 150 whiskies from around the globe, so whether your thing is single-ounce tastes of high-end Japanese whisky or bottles of craft beers you’ll leave happy.

The Lobby Bar at The Ludlow, NYC
As a teaser before the opening of their bistro, Dirty French, later in August, Mario Carbone, Rich Torrisi, and Jeff Zalaznick have opened their super-hot Lobby Bar inside the Ludlow Hotel. Bearded bartending wizard Thomas Waugh (of ZZ’s Clam Bar fame) is behind the cocktail menu so expect big things.
