The estate of legendary Hollywood actor Humphrey Bogart has teamed up with UK drinks company Rok Drinks to launch Bogart’s Real English Gin.

A new gin dedicated to Hollywood legend Humphrey Bogart has launched

Rok Drinks, the drinks arm of Rok Stars, a UK consumer products company launched by UK entrepreneur Jonathan Kendrink and US billionaire John Paul DeJoria, who co-founded the Patrón Tequila brand, has partnered with the Casablanca star’s estate to launch the new product.

Described as a “small batch, artisanal” gin, the release has been infused and distilled in Cambridge, England.

Stephen Bogart, son of Humphrey Bogart and actress Lauren Bacall, said: “My father loved gin, so I am thrilled about this partnership.

“For the Bogart Estate to lend my father’s name to a project, we look for a great partner and an authentic connection. It doesn’t get any better than teaming with the co-founder of Patron Tequila to bring Bogart’s Gin to the world.”

Each bottle of Bogart’s Real English Gin will bear an image of the late actor, who was known as Bogie, as well as one of his memorable quotes, such as “never trust a man who doesn’t drink”.

In Casablanca, Bogart uttered one of the most famous phrases in the history of cinema when he said: “Of all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine.”

“Gin was invented in The Netherlands and perfected in England and Humphrey Bogart is of Dutch and English ancestry,” said Robbert de Klerk, who co-manages the Humphrey Bogart Estate with Stephen Bogart.

“Bogie loved gin, and it was one of his private passions that he incorporated in his film performances. Gin featured in his films because Humphrey Bogart loved to drink gin. We are very proud of Bogart’s Gin.”

Rok Drinks will be announcing its US distribution partners for Bogart’s Real English Gin in the next three to four weeks, followed by the UK. The gin is bottled at 45% abv and carries an RRP of £35.
