Allied Glass develops bottle for Makar Gin

The Glasgow Distillery Company has enlisted the support of Allied Glass Containers for the creation of its new Makar Glasgow Gin.

Allied has developed an existing unique heptagonal bottle design by Fraser Reynolds for the new distillery.

Having become involved in the project at an early stage, Allied was able to work closely to the original concept while translating it into an efficient, “fit-for-purpose” design.

“A bold yet intricate bottle manufactured in Gicel extra white premium flint glass, the key features are the beautiful chamfers and slices in the body, which were produced to be as sharp as possible, in order to create a bold light refraction effect through the bottle,” Allied said.

The 43% abv gin, which counts eight botanicals such as rosemary and black peppercorns, is being released in September.
