Mezcal Vago Espadin and Elote launch in UK

Two new small batch 100% agave mezcals have been launched in the UK by independent spirit specialist Distillnation.

Mezcal Vago Espadin and Mezcal Vago Elote are now available to purchase in the UK

Mezcal Vago was co-founded by long-term friends, Dylan Sloan and Judah Kuper, who live in Telluride Colorado and Oaxaca, Mexico, respectively.

Mezcal Vago Espadin uses Espadin agave cultivated by Aquilino Garcia Lopez in the small village of Candelaria Yegolé on the border of the Central Valley and Sierra Sur regions of Oaxaca. It is distilled twice and described as a “bright and balanced” mezcal.

The Elote expression of Mezcal Vago differs with the infusion of roasted corn grown on Lopez’s farm, which is added between the second and extra third distillation.

Each bottle of Mezcal Vago is labelled with information regarding the production, agaves, regions and the name of the Mezcalero to “credit and empower the master mezcal makers”.

The labels themselves are made from 100% Agave, recycled from post distillation mash.

Mezcal Vago Espadin is bottled at 51% abv while Mezcal Vago Elote is bottled at 52.1% abv.

Both expressions are available from Distillnation, The Whisky Exchange, Master of Malt and Hedonism Wines.
