Inver House marks 50th birthday with anniversary bottling
By Becky PaskinInver House Distillers is marking its 50th anniversary this year with a series of celebrations, including the launch of a campaign communicating its heritage, and a special commemorative bottling.
The entire team from Inver House Distillers, along with members of company owner ThaiBev, gathered to toast the company’s 50th anniversaryThe group, which was founded in 1964 and now comprises of five distilleries – Pulteney, Balblair, Knockdhu, Speyburn and Balmenach – is using previously unseen records to compile a 50th anniversary book filled with memories and mementos gifted by former staff and the local Airdrie community.
In addition, the group has created a limited edition 50th anniversary bottling featuring a blend of 50-year-old Hankey Bannister with 10-year-old whiskies from all five distilleries. The whisky will only be available as a gift for staff and “other key stakeholders”.
Graham Stevenson, managing director of Inver House Distillers, said: “We are immensely proud of the successful business and brands that we have built at Inver House over the past 50 years and our thanks go to every member of the Inver House team, past and present, who have contributed along the way.
“Our business now has some of the industry’s busiest distilleries and most respected and fastest growing brands, which is testament to our collective achievements since those early days in 1964.”
The group recently invested £4 million into doubling capacity at Speyburn Distillery.
