David Beckham’s Haig Club Scotch whisky has launched exclusively in Selfridges
It was announced in April this year that Diageo had teamed up with Beckham and music mogul Simon Fuller to launch Haig Club – a single grain, no-age-statement Scotch whisky.
The product is created from liquid sourced from the Cameronbridge distillery and is comprised of a variety of aged whisky from three types of cask: first-fill, rejuvenated and refill Bourbon barrels.
Beckham and Fuller, who founded the smash hit American Idol TV show, are said to play a “fundamental role” in developing the brand.
Haig Club will be exclusively available from Selfridges, based in London’s Oxford Street, until the end of the month at an RRP of £45.
The brand will then roll out to The Whisky Shop on Piccadilly in London from 28 July before it becomes available more widely in selected retail outlets.
Beckham, who is now retired from football, said: “The House of Haig has a rich history and I’m proud to be working at the heart of a home-grown brand which has built an incredible heritage over 400 years.
“Working closely with Diageo, we look forward to collaborating on Haig Club, valuing and treasuring the Haig traditions while reinventing this whisky for years to come.”
Details of a planned global launch of Haig Club have not yet been disclosed.
