Diageo hires new communications director
By Melita KielyDiageo has appointed former deputy spokesman for the UK Prime Minister, Vickie Sheriff as the company’s global communications director, commencing 1 September 2014.
Vickie Sheriff is the new global communications director for DiageoAs global communications director, Sheriff will be responsible for external communications and employee engagement.
“I am thrilled to be joining Diageo in a great new role,” said Sheriff. “After a long career enjoying communications in government, I’m looking forward to bringing my skills and experience to the commercial sector.
“Diageo is a company that people want to work for and I am excited to be leading a team to help shape Diageo’s global communications to support its ambition.”
Sheriff currently holds the position of director of group communications at the Department for Transport for the UK Government.
Her previous positions also include head of news for the Ministry of Justice and the Department for International Development, as well as communication roles in HM Treasury and the former Department for Trade and Industry.
