Firestarter Vodka
Moldovan vodka brand Firestarter drives home its brand message with a fire extinguisher-shaped bottle that is so intricate it comes with its own set of opening instructions.
Similar to the PASS method used for extinguishing fires – Pull (the pin), Aim (the nozzle), Squeeze (the lever), Sweep (use a sweeping motion) – Firestarter recommends using the TAPS method to crack open the bottle – Twist (the cap), Aim (the nozzle), Pour and Sip.

Crystal Head Vodka
Inspired by the legend of 13 crystal skulls which are said to grant spiritual powers to those that possess them, Ghostbusters star Dan Aykroyd (pictured), along with artist John Alexander, launched one of the most talked about bottle shapes for the past five years.
Crystal Head Vodka is quadruple-distilled, triple-filteredthrough charcoal before being triple-filtered through Herkimer diamond crystals.
The bottle was even used by a forensic artist to create a clay face using facial reconstruction techniques. A special edition bottle was also launched by the brand to commemorate the 50th anniversary of legendary rick band the Rolling Stones.

Democracy Vodka
A Russian branding agency made quite the political statement when it created Democracy Vodka – which comes bottled in missile-shaped containers.
The bottles are in turn contained in a secure suitcase which also features shot glasses posing as red detonation buttons.
The Moscow-based agency, StudioIn, said: “Taking this virtual bomb from its creative depot StudioIn is making a call for people to ‘switch on’ their brain and open their eyes.”

Red Army Vodka
Viewed by some as “cool” and others as inappropriate, Red Cross Army vodka, owned by Polish company Bartex Bartol, is contained in a plastic bottle shaped like a Kalashnikov rifle.
However, regulatory body The Portman Group found the design to suggest “an association with violent and dangerous behaviour” and banned it from being sold in the UK.
Brand owner Bartex defended its product by claiming that it was “simply just a glass bottle in the shape of a gun, sold as a gift pack, and that it had nothing to do with weapons or violence”. The company has been given until June this year to alter the design.

Wodqa
Should you come across unusually named and packaged Wodqa vodka in a supermarket, you could be forgiven for thinking an oil or paint tin had been mistakenly placed in the drinks section.
A separate metal opener in the shaped of a branch can also be purchased to open the vessel with ease.
The German brand is currently only available in its domestic market, but is seeking to extend distribution abroad.

Herr Vodka
Herr Vodka’s phallus-shaped bottle design certainly has the shock factor.
Just to make the bottle just that little bit more strange, the words “Herr is with you” are printed on its side. The vodka is no longer available.
DQ Vodka
Swedish brand DQ Vodka is contained in a futuristic vodka bottle consisting of nine separate parts which must be hand assembled.
An aluminum rod, placed in the middle of the bottle, has been made in the same UK factory that produces Bentley’s coolers – and keeps the vodka cool when you take it out of the freezer.
In 2013, DQ Vodka was named luxury brand of the year in Poland.

Bong Spirit
Most drinkers are probably familiar with the beer bong concept, but a US company took this to a new level with the launch of Bong Spirit in 2008.
The bong-shaped vodka bottles are said to represent the communal function of drinking and celebrate the role of the bong in the underground arts culture.
As part of Bong Spirit’s Spirit of the Bong programme, unique designs have been etched on the vodka bottles by various up-and-coming artists.

Matrioshka Vodka
Russian vodka brand Matrioshka Vodka emphasises its origins with an eye catching Russian Doll bottle design. Glass bottles of the wheat vodka are contained inside the traditional wooden dolls.
The different coloured dolls represent their respective vodka flavours: yellow is honey, blue is classic and red is cranberry.
