Famous Grouse Experience upgrade completed

Edrington has completed its £250,000 refurbishment of facilities at The Famous Grouse Experience, based in The Glenturret Distillery.

A £250,000 upgrade of facilities at The Famous Grouse Experience has been completed

Work on renovating the distillery’s visitors’ café, shop, tasting experiences and welcome lounge has been conducted over the winter months in the run up to Commonwealth Games and Ryder Cup, both taking place in Scotland later this year.

A new ‘Tasting Bar’ has also been created, allowing visitors to identify the aromas of The Famous Grouse whisky. Edrington has also enhanced the distillery’s facilities for corporate entertainment and private events, including The Famous Grouse Suite.

Another new feature is the Personalisation Bar in the new gift shop, which allows customers to personalise their bottle of The Famous Grouse blended whisky on site.

The Famous Grouse Experience is based in Crieff, at The Glenturret Distillery – thought to be to Scotland’s oldest distillery.

“This will be an extremely busy year for tourism businesses in the Perthshire area,” said Lesley Williamson, business development manager of The Famous Grouse Experience.

“The eyes of the world will be upon us and it’s imperative that we continue to deliver our visitors a quality experience.

“The investment demonstrates our commitment to the future of the Distillery in Crieff and in our offering to the corporate and private events market, as well as an important tourism destination, both of which are incredibly important to our business.”

The newly refurbished elements of The Famous Grouse Experience are now open to the public while adjustments are ongoing.
