London Dry gin Sipsmith is launching a summer aperitif, entitled Sipsmith Summer CupThe Sipsmith Summer Cup has been created by master distiller Jared Brown as an ode to the 1800s when British Cups were “a quintessential classic”, and each establishment would have had their own variation known as the House Cup or punch.
Described as a “refreshing and aromatic drink that captures the essence of British summer in a glass”, Sipsmith Summer Cup is includes a range of ingredients, including lemon verbena and Earl Grey tea.
The aperitif – made with 35ml of Sipsmith poured over ice, topped with lemonade and garnished with a slice of lemon – comes served in a wine glass to accentuate the natural flavours and citrus notes of Sipsmith gin.
Sipsmith Summer Cup Carafes are also available for sharing free of charge, subject to minimum bottle quantities, and hold the equivalent of three 35ml serves.
James Grundy, UK sales director at Sipsmith, said: “A sophisticated serve for summer time sharing, both the wine glass and carafe serves release Summer Cup’s summery aromas beautifully.”
