The second annual American Craft Distillers Convention and Vendor Trade Show will take place in Austin, Texas, from 14-16 February 2015.

Hyatt Regency Austin has been selected as the venue for the consumer event, which provides members of the public with the opportunity to sample an array craft-distilled spirits.

The news comes following the success of the first trade show, which took place last month in Denver by the American Craft Distillers Association (ACDA).

“Hosting the 2015 ACDA Convention and Trade Show is an amazing opportunity for Texas and will be a great place to showcase the uniqueness and originality of out own craft spirits producers,” said Scott Stewart, executive director of the Texas Distilled Spirits Association (TDSA).

Penn Jensen, executive director of ACDA said Austin was the “perfect fit” for artisan producers.

“According to Nielsen Associates, Austin is the number one city in the country for craft by percentage of resident young adults. Craft is spoken here,” he said.

Stewart also added that until 2008 there were only eight distilling permits in Texas.

“Today there are more than 50,” Stewart explained. “We look forward to putting on a show worthy of this great state and this fast growing industry.”
