Penderyn honours Dylan Thomas with iconic whisky
Welsh whisky distillery Penderyn is to release a Dylan Thomas-inspired expression as the third limited edition in its Icons of Wales series.
Welsh poet Dylan Thomas (1914-1953) has inspired Penderyn whisky’s latest Icons of Wales releaseThe third release in the series that celebrates Wales and its people throughout the world, marks the 100th birthday of the acclaimed Welsh poet Dylan Thomas.
The expression has been aged in first fill Bourbon casks for an unspecified period, and finished in Sherry casks. It is non-chill filtered and bottled at 41% abv.
Penderyn managing director Stephen Davies expects the Dylan Thomas expression to launch by the end of April, with 5,000 bottles available at an RRP of £40 across the UK and Europe.
Davies told The Spirits Business that Dylan Thomas would be followed by a fourth release in the Icons of Wales series, inspired by Welsh gold, in 2015.
Penderyn launched the limited edition series in 2013 with Red Flag, which retailed for £35. It was then followed by the release of Independence, which carried an RRP of £40.
