London Wine Fair drops Distil spirits section

London Wine Fair (LWF) is dropping its dedicated spirits section Distil this year, to focus more on wine.

The annual trade show, which returns to London Olympia in Kensington this summer from 2-4 June, has featured Distil as a spirits-focused add-on for five years.

But the popular show, frequented by sommeliers, retailers and buyers, will no longer box out a separate area for spirits.

“The primary focus of the fair is wine, and so Distil as a separate brand just isn’t needed,” a spokesperson for LWF said.

“We will still have some spirits in the fair though, Angus Dundee being the most recent to book, so we’re not abandoning the category, we’re just not grouping spirits under the Distil banner for this year.”

As of 4 March, the other spirits groups confirmed to exhibit at the show include Kvint and Distell.
