Finalists named for 2014 Snow Queen Martini Masters
By Melita KielyTwelve UK bartenders have been picked to compete in the grand final of the 2014 Snow Queen Martini Masters.
Twelve finalists have been named for the Snow Queen Martini Masters 2014Picked from an overwhelming response of entries from across the UK, the final 12 bartenders will compete against one another in a live final for the chance to win £2,000 plus a role as UK brand ambassador.
Having submitted a recipe for the perfect Snow Queen Martini, which upholds the brand’s super-premium, feminine values, the bartenders will be tasked with reproducing their drink in front of a panel of judges at The Club at The Ivy in London on 18 March.
Judging the competition will be: Mike Sweetman, London area chairman for the UKBG; Daisy Jones, associate publisher of The Spirits Business; Jennie Rae of BarChick; Pritesh Mody of LoveFoodLoveDrink; Becky Paskin, editor of The Spirits Business; and Alessandro Palazzi, head barman of Dukes.
“It was a tough job whittling down the entries to just 10 finalists, as the level of quality was so great,” explained Paskin. “In the end our judges took the decision to choose 12 recipes to make it through to the final. This year’s competition look set to be the most exciting yet.”
Last year’s inaugural winner of the Snow Queen Martini Masters, which is held in partnership with The Spirits Business, was Thomas Aske, co-founder of Fluid Movement that owns Worship Street Whistling Shop in London.
This year the judges will be looking for elegant recipes that embody the vodka’s sophisticated, ultra-premium and feminine values.
