Jack Daniel’s Operation Ride Home helps reunite families with members in the armed forces during the holidaysOver the last two years, the Tennessee whiskey brand owned by Brown-Forman has assisted 820 service members travel home for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays through its Operation Ride Home campaign.
The campaign provides vouchers for plane tickets – around US$400 per person – as well as handed out US$100 prepaid debit cards to help service members and their families pay for food, travel and hotels.
Phil Epps, group brand director for Jack Daniel’s, said:“For the past two years, we have seen a tremendous outpouring of support to help our nation’s heroes and their families make it home for the holidays.
“Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps us reunite these families over the holiday season. For those troops who haven’t seen their families for years, or grandparents who haven’t seen their new grandchildren, there can be no greater present. That’s what Operation Ride Home is all about.”
Jack Daniel’s partners with the Armed Services YMCA for the project. The distillery is now also urging fans of the brand to contribute their own donation for the cause.
