The Guardians of The Glenlivet to select next edition
Chivas Brothers is asking is global community of Glenlivet fans – The Guardians of The Glenlivet – to choose the best-selling brand’s next limited edition single malt Scotch.
The Guardians of The Glenlivet will select the brand’s next release from the Classic, Revival, and Exotic expressions
The release, called The Glenlivet Guardians’ Chapter, will be selected from three drams created by master distiller Alan Winchester.
The whiskies, named Classic, Exotic and Revival, will be taken on a worldwide tour and showcased at tasting events in numerous countries, including Australia, the US, the UK, India, South Africa and Japan.
Classic is aged in Spanish and American oak casks, Exotic makes use of sherry casks, while Revival has been matured in Bourbon casks. All are non-chill filtered and bottled at 48.7%.
“Choosing a Scotch whisky is normally a privilege reserved for a very select handful of experts revered for their knowledge, passion and experience,” said Nikki Burgess, brand director for The Glenlivet.
“With The Glenlivet Guardians’ Chapter, we wanted to recognise and reward the knowledge, passion and experience of our Guardians and invite them to write the next chapter in The Glenlivet’s history.”
Once The Guardians have tasted the editions, they can cast their vote on which they would like to become The Glenlivet Guardians’ Chapter online.
Votes will be counted in December and 2,000 cases of the selected The Glenlivet Guardians’ Chapter will be releases globally in February 2014.
