Highland Park creates £25,000 Linn turntable
Highland Park has collaborated with Linn to create 40 unique turntables crafted from former whisky casks, to celebrate the iconic sound system manufacturer’s 40th anniversary.
Highland Park’s Spanish oak casks have been used to create the plinth for Linn’s 40th anniversary LP12 turntable
Accompanied by a bottle of 40-year-old Highland Park, the limited edition 40th Anniversary Sondek LP12 turntables – a product first created in 1973 that is claimed to have set standards for vinyl playback – have been crafted from the Spanish oak casks used to age Highland Park Scotch whisky, which are said to improve the sound quality.
“Working with Linn and helping to produce such a special version of their iconic Sondek LP12 turntable is a great honour,” said Gerry Tosh, global marketing manager for Highland Park. “Not only have we helped create a great looking piece of kit, the density of our hand-selected Spanish oak casks has also added to the already impressive sound quality.”
The turntable comprises a Kandid moving coil cartridge, Ekos SE tonearm, Keel sub-chassis and armboard Radikal DC motorand power supply, Urika phono stage plus the LP12 solid oak Highland Park whisky cask plinth.
Just 40 editions have been created and carry an RRP of £25,000.
