Johnnie Walker releases Platinum Label in US

Blended Scotch whisky brand Johnnie Walker has released its Platinum Label in the US this month.

The 18-year-old Johnnie Walker Platinum Label expression will roll out across the US this month

The blend, described as “supremely rich and full-bodied” is drawn from a limited number of wooden casks across 20-25 distilleries and is crafted from a blend of single malt and grain whiskies.

Master blender Jim Beveridge, said: “Since the days of John Walker, private blends have played an important role in the House of Walker. It’s the smaller, exclusive settings and experiences that often produce the best memories.

“We blended Johnnie Walker Platinum Label to be enjoyed responsibly during those treasured moments.”

Johnnie Walker Platinum Label has been described as having a “rich, dark and intense flavour” of “stewed fruit, malty cereal, vanilla, almonds and tangerines” with a “subtle smokiness”.

“Johnnie Walker Platinum Label is the brand’s biggest product launch since the introduction of Blue Label,” said Brian Radics, director of Scotch whisky at brand owners Diageo.

“It has been received extremely well globally. The quality of the liquid and the flavour of the whisky will continue to bolster our position as the world’s leading Scotch whisky brand.

Johnnie Walker Platinum Label will roll out across the US this month at an RRP of US$110.
