The Dalmore Paterson Collection goes on sale at £987,500
The Dalmore has created what is thought to be the world’s most expensive collection of Scotch whiskies – The Dalmore Paterson Collection, which can be purchased for £987,500.

Consisting of 12 bottles, each expression has been created exclusively by The Dalmore master distiller Richard Paterson using some of the distillery’s rarest and most valuable stock dating from 1926.
Each whisky is bottled in Glencairn full lead crystal decanters with hand-engraved silver by Hamilton & Inches, and has been named after people who have influenced and inspired Paterson throughout his career, including his father and grandfather, and the founders of The Dalmore’s parent company Whyte & Mackay, James Whyte and Charles Mackay.
Created in collaboration with London department store Harrods, the Dalmore Paterson Collection is being displayed in the store’s newly refurbished Fine Spirits Room.
The collection, which is presented in a bespoke wooden cabinet, is accompanied by a 200-page ledger detailing Paterson’s thought process as he created each whisky.
“Working alongside Harrods, we have created a collection of whiskies of the very highest quality that can truly lay claim to be the only one of its kind in the world,” explained Paterson. “I personally have invested a huge amount of time ensuring that each of these 12 expressions represent the very best of the incredibly rare and valuable stocks that we nurture up at the distillery in Alness. I’m delighted that we have been able to give this collection the showcase that it deserves, with centre stage in the spirit room of the world’s number one luxury retailer.”
With the global luxury wine and spirits market forecast to grow by 12% in 2013 (Bain & Company “Luxury Goods Worldwide Market Study” 2012), Harrods director of Foods Bruce Langlands admits he has no doubt the collection will be highly sought after.
“If we had any doubts at all about selling such an incredible range of whiskies we wouldn’t have spent so much creating them in the first place with The Dalmore,” he said. “It is the flagship product for our new spirits room, and has pride of place in its bespoke hand crafted cabinet. I’m more concerned that we sell it too quickly and we lose an outstanding talking point and attraction in the spirits room.”
