Rémy appoints new CFO as Pflanz moves up

Rémy Cointreau has appointed Luca Marotta as group CFO, as Frédéric Pflanz steps up to the role of CEO on 30 September.

Rémy Cointreau will make Luca Marotta CFO when Frédéric Pflanz steps up to CEO

Marotta, who since 2010 has served as chief financial officer of the Consumer Products Division in Paris, has already joined Rémy Cointreau with a view to take on Pflanz’s role when he moves up.

Marotta has previously held various financial positions within the audit sector before joining the L’Oreal Group in 1999 as finance director of the Italian subsidiary.

Pflanz, currently holding the positions of both CFO and COO since December 2012, will succeed Jean-Marie Laborde when his term of office as CEO of Rémy ends on 30 September 2013.

The group recently announced a 2.3% organic sales drop in its Q1 2013 financial results, as sales of Rémy Martin failed to meet expectations in Asia during the Chinese New Year in February. Rémy Martin published a 12.9% fall in organic sales in the first quarter 2013 as a result.
