The Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch 8 will be launched in the UK this week
The latest edition in the Speyside single malt brand’s Tun 1401 series, Batch 8 will be available exclusively in the UK from 13 June with an RRP of £200.
A blend of whisky from nine new American oak barrels and three European oak Sherry casks, Batch 8 has been married in Tun 1401 for several months before being bottled at 50.2% abv.
The distillery describes the whisky as giving hints of brown sugar, vanilla and toasted spice on the nose, with rich fruit, cinnamon, ginger and maple syrup on the tongue.
The Balveni Tun 1401 Batch 8 will be unveiled to the public for the first time at The Balvenie Whisky Fete (13-15 June)in Tavistock Square.
Jonathan Cornthwaite, brand manager for The Balvenie at UK distributor First Drinks, said: “The Balvenie Whisky Fête will be a special experience for consumers who love single malt whisky and appreciate the finer things in life such as the craftsmanship and artistry involved in fine tailor made clothing and custom made watches.
“The Balvenie Tun 1401 Batch 8 is a fine expression of the artistry employed by malt master, David Stewart and the traditional techniques used at the distillery to make high class single malt Scotch whisky.”
Its release follows that of Batch 7, which entered travel retail, and Batch 6, which was launched exclusively in the US.
The last Tun 1401 release to be available in the UK was Batch 5, which sold out within weeks.
