Sagatiba Cachaça reintroduced to US
By Becky PaskinFollowing the US’ recognition of Cachaça as a Brazilian spirit, Campari America has reintroduced its Sagatiba Cachaça portfolio to the country.
Sagatiba Cachaça is taking advantage of the US’s official recognition of the spirit as a Brazilian product
The range, which includes Pura, an unaged cachaça designed for mixing, and Velha, a cachaça aged for up to three years and designed to be drunk neat or over ice, has been rolled to in New York, Florida, California and Nevada.
“Cachaça is the third-largest spirits category in the world and is quickly becoming one of the hottest, fastest growing categories in the U.S. market,” said Umberto Luchini, head of marketing at Campari America. “We’re excited to share one of Brazil’s favorite exports with American consumers.”
Sagatiba was founded by Braizilian Marcos de Moraes in 2004, and purchased by Gruppo Campari in 2011.
The brand was launched in the States ahead of International Cachaça Day on 12 June.
