By Becky PaskinGlenfiddich is releasing Cask of Dreams, a new limited edition single malt whisky finished in Nordic oak – the first time such wood has been used to mature a Scotch.
Glenfiddich’s Cask of Dreams is the first known Scotch to be finished in Nordic oakGlenfiddich Cask of Dreams, which comes without an age statement, has been created exclusively for the Nordic domestic markets and Nordic travel retail, for which Viking Line is the exclusive retailer and will receive 1,008 of the 3,600 one-litre bottles produced.
The whisky was unveiled onboard the Viking Line Cinderella at its regular whisky fest.
“Maturing over a winter in the Nordic Oak casks has brought exciting flavours to the liquid,” Glenfiddich malt master Brian Kinsman. ”The flavour is rich and sweet with a vanilla and oak character, you may even feel a taste of cedar trees.”
