Entrants called for Beefeater 24 Bartender Competition

Bartenders are being given the chance to showcase their skills at the third annual Beefeater 24 Global Bartender Competition, with talent from 26 countries competing for the title.

The third annual Beefeater 24 competition is now open for entries

Contestants will compete in national heats, which will be attended by Beefeater’s global ambassadors Tim Stones and Sebastian Hamilton-Mudge, between July and October 2013. The global final will be held in London on 7 November.

The participants will have to create two cocktails: a classic using Beefeater Dry, before adapting it with a modern twist using Beefeater 24.

Paco Recuero, international brand director for Beefeater 24, said: “Timing is at the core of Beefeater 24’s philosophy, so our judges will be looking for the perfect balance from the entrants cocktails.”

The overall winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Japan in 2014, where they will learn more about the teas crucial to Beefeater 24’s flavour and the local bartending culture.

Recuero said: “We’re looking forward to discovering some great new bartending talents and are excited about working with the winner to spread the word about Beefeater 24 in the year to follow.”

Winner of the 2012 Global Bartender Competition Nathan O’Neill said that the Beefeater 24 competition tests not only the bartender’s knowledge, but also their sensory capabilities.

“My advice to bartenders thinking about entering would be to go for it; it will change your future perspective and approach to your work, career and the way you create drinks,” he said.

Each contestant will be invited to appear in a short film by Beefeater 24 called ‘Craft of Bartending’ which will be shared following the grand final via www.beefeatergin.tv.

Bartenders from around the world are asked to contact Beefeater representatives in their own country for more details on the competition.
