Diageo launches Captain Morgan Sherry Oak Finish Spiced rum

The special release, which is described as having vanilla, caramel, dark cherry and cocoa flavours, is being launched to capitalise on “growing demand for sherry flavoured spirits in the marketplace”.
Diageo describe the release as a ”rich and flavorful take on the brand’s signature blend,” which helped Captain Morgan reach 10 million case sales during 2012.
With a new bottle design and updated branding, Captain Morgan Sherry Oak Finish Spiced Rum has a purplr metallic label for shelf stand out.
The release is also designed to commemorate Captain Morgan’s 1671 naval battle off the coast of Panama. The battle, in which the famous pirate lost five ships including his flagship The Satisfaction, earned Captain Morgan his place as one of the most renowned privateers in history.

The edition, which is bottled at 35% abv, will be available across the US at an RRP of US$19.99 for a 750ml bottle.
Diageo recommends the sherry cask edition be drunk on the rocks or mixed with cola.
