Rare $23,000 Louis XIII Cognac released

Remy Martin has released a second Rare Cask Cognac named Louis XIII Rare Cask 42.6, which has a guide price of €18,000 (US$23,000).

The Cognac house has chosen a smaller single cask for the second release in its Rare Cask Collection, from which 738 decanters have been produced.

The Cognac itself has a 42.6% abv and features a blend of 1,200 eaux-de-vie, a signature of the Louis XIII name.

The Louis XIII Rare Cask 42.6 will be available in selected on-trade outlets and specialist retailers, as well as travel retail outlets at London, Amsterdam, Paris, Los Angeles and Singapore airports.

The first release in the Rare Cask Collection was the 43.8 in 2010, which was bottled in black Baccarat crystal and retailed for US$15,000.
