Kilchoman launches Loch Gorm sherry whiskies
Kilchoman distillery is launching a new range of sherry cask matured whiskies called Loch Gorm next month.
The first Kilchoman Loch Gorm will be released on 8 April
The Islay distillery will periodically release new versions in the Loch Gorm range, beginning with a five-year-old whisky matured in Oloroso sherry butts and finished on Oloroso sherry hogsheads for six weeks.
With a limited release of 10,000 bottles worldwide, the first Loch Gorm edition available from 8 April, bottled at 46% abv, is expected to sell quickly.
Kilchoman distillery owner Anthony Wills said: “Previous sherry matured Kilchomans have been very popular with our customers and I’m sure this will be as equally well received. It shows wonderful balance between the peat smoke and spicy rich flavours typical of sherry cask maturation.”
The further releases of Loch Gorm will be more mature versions, differentiated by a printed year of distillation and bottling on the label.
