By Becky PaskinPanache Beverage’s new Alibi American Whiskey generated over US$600,000 of sales in its first month alone, boosting the group’s total annual sales by over 50%.
Alibi American Whiskey has boosted Panache Beverages end of year results considerablyHaving launched the brand in New York, Florida and New Jersey in November 2012, Panache has witnessed a remarkable response to its first foray into brown spirits.
A corn-based whiskey featuring rye and malted barley, Alibi is distilled in Indiana, aged in American oak casks and blended and bottled in Florida.
Its sales contributed to record overall Q4 sales for the group of over US$2 million, up almost 200% from the same period in 2011 (US$700,000).
The strong results from the fourth quarter generated almost two-thirds of Panache’s sales for the full financial year to December 2012.
The New York-based company reported a record sales of over US$3m – an increase of more than 50% on 2011, ahead of the release of its full-year financial results at the end of March.
James Dale, CEO of Panache Beverages, said the strong fourth quarter results followed a disruption in the group’s supply chain in the third quarter, which has now been resolved.
“We move into 2013 well capitalised and positioned for significant growth in all three portfolio brands including Wodka Vodka, Alibi American Whiskey and Alchemia Infused Vodka,” he added.
Alibi is expected to be rolled out nationwide during 2013 in the on- and off-trade, including Georgia, Illinois, Texas, Washington, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Arizona and Nevada.
